What is the qualification?
A GCSE graded 9 – 1

What will students be doing on the course?  How will it be structured?
Two components, of which are examinations.  Students will learn the theory of topics such as networks, security, computational logic, data types and programming skills.

Assessment
Two examinations for components for 1 and 2 which will take place at the end of Year 11.  There will be regular assessments which take place at the end of units to monitor students progress.

What skills do students need to develop to be successful at this course?
Problem solving, independence and time management are just a couple of skills.  Students will build on their knowledge from Key Stage 3.

What could this qualification be used for?
Students could continue to study the subject at Key Stage 5.  The skills learnt in problem solving could also be applied in other subjects.
