Summer School Premium

All new Year 7 students were invited to the ‘Harry Potter’ themed summer school, and 84 attended in total.  Government funding provided free school meals every day for each child, a workshop by the Hippodrome theatre and four workshops daily, delivered by the staff at Lordswood. These workshops included: daily literacy and numeracy sessions to help bridge the gap in learning for Year 6 students affected by lockdown, mindfulness and nature sessions to include creating journey sticks, the making of magic wands by the Art department, Drama workshops and outdoor Physical Education workshops. Students also engaged in making live recordings on Lordswood radio station. Funding paid for the staff to attend daily and food for each child.
